My mom sent me this beautiful picture late last week, and I just had to share it!
The giant maple tree is in its full glory right now, just about ready to drop all its leaves (and give my dad and his mower plenty to do!) My siblings and I spent many autumn days under that tree, collecting leaves to press, and raking up dropped leaves for jumping piles, trips to the trash dump, and bonfires.
Now, my own yard is much smaller and the trees much less vibrant, even at their late-October color peak. Still, I’m grateful for grass to mow, leaves to rake, a place to let our Dallas the Dog outside, room for a compost pile, and a patch of lawn to call my own.
