Full Steam Ahead

July 22, 2011 by Ellen V

We’re over half-way through a jam-packed summer, and I am totally ready for a break. But no rest for the weary! I’ve got a half-dozen things on my to-do list, and some of them are major projects. I’m planning to use this weekend at home wisely. And, as I post this around 5:00pm on a Friday evening, I’ve made some major progress. A few things on this weekend’s list include:

  1. Finishing (!) my June/July sewing project. It’s looking much different now, and should definitely be done by Sunday, but last night it looked like this:

A mystery summer sewing project, to be revealed very soon.

  2. Trying my hand at canning, with some help from Eric and some delicious tasting peaches I was able to snag earlier in the week.

These guys are so worth the chin dribble.

  3. Finally, finally painting a bench for our front porch. I’m happy to report that the bench is sanded and painted, and I’m just waiting for the cushions I ordered to come in so I can share the project with all of you.

The "before" shot. So much potential!

I’m keeping busy and looking forward to sharing the rewards with you!

Love the fabric! Love peaches! Can’t wait to see what you do with the bench.
