Sewing Projects: June/July

At least one thing can be checked off the weekend’s to-do list… A sewing project!

My latest project was the biggest one–both in volume and complexity–I’ve attempt so far, so I thought it was fair to give myself two months to accomplish it. The skirt is a Martha Stewart pattern from her Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts (buy it here). I had to try lots of new techniques (like button holes! Oh, my!) and actually be careful if I ever wanted to be able to wear the thing! It turned out pretty well, I think. It’s a bit too big for me, on purpose, for my growing belly. I think the colors will look great this autumn! Unfortunately, my only picture doesn’t do it much more justice than the pile of fabric did a few days ago, but I’ll share anyway. In a month or two, perhaps I’ll get a shot with it on!

Besides the skirt, I’ve been keeping busy on the many other to-dos on my list. There will be much more to share soon!
