welcome home, sweet girl

October 18, 2014 by Ellen V

In the unlikely chance you don’t know me in real life, let me clue you in to the reason for the radio silence:

Sidney Louise October 13, 2014 10:04 p.m. 8 lbs 9 oz 21 1/4"

As I write this, I’m watching her sleep peacefully across the room. Like her big sister, she’s a heavy sleeper and probably sleeps even more than most 5-day-olds. We have to remind her to eat and keep her awake, but she always seems grateful that we have (after a little adjustment period).

Eric has Jane for the morning out and about, she’s been eternally spoiled this week. I’m not looking forward to real life come Monday!

Sidney is named after two beautiful, strong women who we hope will be role models for both our daughters. Her first name is Eric’s maternal grandmother’s, who is still with it at 96. Amazing! And her middle name is Mama K’s. She’ll have big shoes to fill (literally and figuratively).

More to come soon, but for now, we’re adjusting, napping, and learning to live and love being a family of four!
