Happy Easter Tuesday!
We seem to have survived a sick baby and an Easter trip to Texas with two kiddos, and I am terribly thankful for spring break this week.
I keep thinking the biggest difference between having one child and having two is just survival. I kept thinking it with the fairly severe illness Sidney has had, and I kept thinking it while we loaded onto and unloaded off of airplanes all weekend. Sometimes you just have to stop killing yourself with timeouts and hand holding and let them eat jelly beans for breakfast, you know?
We waited until the last minute to decide whether we could go to visit Mama and Papa V with Sid feeling as badly as she did, but she turned a corner and we’re so glad we made the trip. Baby Sidney got to meet her namesake, Great Grandma Sidney. Jane enjoyed the luxuries of my in-laws’ house (copious amounts of attention and a rockin’ playhouse). And we all enjoyed the spoils of letting someone else feed and entertain us for a few days.
Truly, I am so grateful for the blessings of my little girls, of a helpful and understanding spouse, and of springtime in our little corner of the world.
