Now that I’m back to work and mothering not one but two children, our evenings are busy, to say the very least. One of the things I struggle with the most is how to make productive use of those few hours.
I’ll be honest, most evenings Eric and I rush hard to get dinner on the table, children bathed, and noisy cleaning (dishes, vacuuming, etc) accomplished before our girls’ early bedtimes. If I can get those things accomplished plus any school work done before I crash, I’m lucky. If I don’t have any work to catch up on, I’m often just biding my time until I can crash on my bed instead of on my couch.
I’m hoping to make a little more good use of my evenings.
While the extended daylight isn’t helping Jane fall asleep, it is helping me feel like I have at least a little more energy at the end of the day. I’m hoping to use that energy to run an errand, prep meals or lunches for tomorrow, or do some of the chores that so often get left for the weekends. Besides, the summertime stuff of mowing lawns and hung laundry on the line is coming quickly.
But then again, the couch isn’t so bad, either. And I should probably mention I’m posting from there now.
