Time Crunch

I am currently on a quest for more time.

Time, slipping away.

Work has gotten crazy, and I’m spending at least 3 nights a week in the office lately, plus additional time in the office on what should be my days off.  Eric’s school work is in full swing.  Plus, Eric and I have been attempting to be social, which is jam packing the little time we have on weekends. Plus, we’ve been asked to speak for a few local organizations.  Plus, we’ve been trying to work out more.  You can see where this is going.

My solution thus far has been to plan out my days to the minute and “time budget” for every little thing, including cleaning the bathrooms and picking a day to do our taxes.  This hasn’t worked so well, as I have very little time to recuperate and every minute of every day seems already spoken for.  Really, it just makes me cranky.

Plan B:  Plan entire mornings or afternoons or evenings or (gasp!) days with zero commitments, including housework or social engagements, so I can do things that I want to do rather than only do things I need to do.  I’m also looking ahead to some vacation time, even if it means looking ahead to spring and summer to get away from the office.

I love my job and I love my home enough to know that even I need a break to enjoy them both to their fullest.
